Korea Scoops Up Awards at AFC Ceremony

Korea's national team head coach Huh Jung-moo was voted manager of the year by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Huh received the award at the 2009 AFC Awards Ceremony, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was the first time in six years that a Korean head coach was presented with the honor.

Other nominees included Kim Jung-hoon, who led the North Korean team to the World Cup finals for the first time in 44 years. Dakeshi Okada, who took the Japanese squad to the World Cup finals four successive times, was also nominated.

FC Seoul's Ki Sung-yueng was honored with the AFC Youth Player of the Year award for his consistently high level of play.

Korea dominated the AFC Annual Awards ceremony, winning four awards including the National Team of the Year, Club of the Year, Coach of the Year and Youth Player of the Year.
