Sa Jae-hyouk has won a gold medal at the World Weightlifting Championships in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

The 2008 Olympic gold medalist broke Chinese weightlifter Lu Xiaojun's record of 204 kg by 1 kg in the clean and jerk event of the men's 77-kg category, becoming the first Korean man to win a gold in the competition in 18 years.

But Sa failed to secure the top spot in the snatch portion, placing fourth overall after he came short of breaking his personal record of 163 kg.
