The most powerful lifters in the world will tug, pull, jerk and lift for glory when the 2009 World Weightlifting Championships open at the Goyang Kintex, Gyeonggi Province, on Nov. 20.

Team Korea is shooting for no less than three gold medals, with a total of 15 athletes participating, including Sa Jae-hyuk, Jang Mi-ran and Yun Jin-hee.

Sa will be lifting in the 77 kg division, and Yun has been in the spotlight and is one of the gold medal hopefuls in the 53 kg division.

Many will be focusing on Jang, who is in the plus-75 kg division and is coming back for a fourth straight win. During an interview Jang said she is shooting for a brand new world record as well.
