The government on Thursday ordered carmakers Audi and Volkswagen to recall a combined 1,662 vehicles sold in Korea between Sept. 1 last year and Aug. 31 of this year.
According to the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, models subject to the recall are the Audi A32.0 TFSI and TT as well as the Volkswagen Golf 2.0 GTI; Golf 2.0 TDI; Jetta 2.0 GTI; Passat 2.0 TDI; and CC 2.0 GTI.
The recall was ordered due to defects in transmission and dashboard operation. The affected cars will be eligible for free repairs at service centers run by the automakers.
