SK Energy is taking steps to penetrate the electric-car battery market. The company announced Sunday that it has been selected to supply batteries for Mitsubishi Fuso's hybrid gasoline-electric vehicles.
Truck and bus maker Mitsubishi Fuso is 85 percent owned by Germany's Daimler Group with the remaining 15 percent controlled by Japan's Mitsubishi group.
Under the two-year partnership SK Energy will produce lithium-ion batteries to fit hybrid commercial vehicles currently being developed by Fuso.
