The 14th Pusan International Film Festival kicked off on Thursday in the southern port city also spelled Busan with the opening film "Good Morning President." It will feature a record 355 films from 70 countries.
The opening ceremony for the nine-day event was attended by some 120 Korean actors and over 20 foreign guests including French director Jean-Jacques Beineix, who heads the jury for the New Currents competition.
Some 5,000 outdoor seats were fully occupied by guests and moviegoers, with another 2,000 people surrounding the site to watch the opening.
