Koreans have chosen "sarang," meaning love, as the most beautiful world in their language. According to a poll by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism from Sept. 4 to 17 of 1,500 people between 15 and 60, 21.9 percent or 329 people named "sarang."

Asked about the credibility of a product or company name, 82.8 percent said a product or a company whose name is in Korean seems more credible, but 60.2 percent said a product or a company whose name is in a foreign language looks more sophisticated.

Some 28.1 percent felt slogans or campaigns by national or provincial governments written in foreign languages were inconvenient.

Some 68.8 percent of the respondents thought Hangeul Day should be made a national holiday, but 10.5 percent were against, saying there are already too many holidays.
