LG International has secured a site for forestation in Indonesia that is five times larger than the whole of Jeju Island to start a timber business.

The company announced on Monday that it has partnered with Indonesia's largest private energy firm, MedcoEnergi, to develop 10,000 sq. km of land in Maruake in southern Papua.

It is the largest piece of land ever secured by a Korean company for an overseas forest development project.
