Korean Stars Voted Favorites in International Online Poll

Kim Hyun-joong and Moon Geun-young were voted the best actor and actress of 2009 by Internet users from 50 countries. Kim received over 25.5 million votes and Moon over 25.2 million in the poll conducted from July 11 to Aug. 30 by Yahoo! Korea and the organizers of the 2009 Seoul Drama Awards.

The poll was conducted in three languages -- Korean, English and Japanese. Kim received 46 percent of the votes in Korean, 49 percent in English, and 47 percent in Japanese, while Moon's tally was 54 percent, 45 percent, and 43 percent.

"Boys Over Flowers" was the most popular Korean soap opera with over 22.2 million votes, getting 38 percent in Korean, 43 percent in English and 42 percent in Japanese.

The poll included soap operas released in Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong and their actors and actresses. Kim and Moon will receive the online popularity prize at the 2009 Seoul Drama Awards on Friday.
