A group of Korean scientists have developed a robotic fish. The team, led by Dr. Ryuh Young-sun at the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, unveiled the 42 cm-long, 1.32 kg device in an aquarium at BEXCO. The scientists operated the robotic fish by remote control.

It was given the name "Ichthys," the Greek word for fish. Ichthys can swim for four hours on one charge and can withstand pressure to a depth of 100 m. The fish has been equipped with a GPS device which allows it to find locations for recharging. It can move in all directions, Ryuh said.
