This summer's hottest color combinations for nail varnish and sandals are black and burgundy, yellow and orange, brown and red, ivory and pink, and gold and blue.

James Kaliardos, an internationally renowned make-up artist working for L'Oreal Paris, said, "No matter how beautiful your sandals are, if the color of the shoes does not match the nail polish on your toes, or if the polish has worn off, you can't achieve perfect styling."

Burgundy is the best bet to suit the most common black sandals, and for bright yellow sandals, tropical colors like orange add a pretty touch. For brown sandals, which can look a bit heavy and even drab, red will add intensity. Soft and feminine rose and pink go well with rather neutral ivory sandals, and when you wear sexy gold sandals, blue nail polish is a good choice to complete the sexy look.
