An all-English-language radio channel that launched earlier this year in Seoul, Busan and Gwangju now plans to expand to Daegu, Daejeon and Ulsan.
In the second meeting of the national brand committee presided over by President Lee Myung-bak at the National Museum of Korea on Wednesday, the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) spoke of its plans to expand the radio service that provides useful information for foreigners living in Korea.
The KCC granted broadcasting permits to three all-English radio service providers in the first half of this year -- TBS eFM in Seoul, Busan eFM in Busan, and GFN in Gwangju. In the latter half of the year, KCC plans to grant permission to three more service providers to make English radio available in all metropolitan cities in Korea.
