A former entertainment industry heavyweight who allegedly forced an actress to offer sexual favors to influential figures was extradited to Seoul on Friday.
The man identified only by his last name Kim was the manager of actress Jang Ja-yeon, who committed suicide in March, sparking a media frenzy over the allegations.
He was arrested on June 24 in Japan and escorted to Seoul on Friday to face charges of threatening and coercing Jang to provide sexual services. With Kim in custody, authorities can now resume the probe that was suspended for some 70 days due to insufficient evidence and a lack of witnesses.
