The World Taekwondo Federation will go digital for the first time in the 2009 World Championships in Denmark. Taekwondo, based largely on the points system, has had its share of misdirected points and calls, and the new digital system which uses sensors in the headgear and chest gear of combatants will greatly decrease the number of point arguments.

After a successful trial at the 2009 World Cup Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, the federation has decided to make the digital system official.
