Gondola lifts are being planned for Mt. Nam in Seoul, to begin operation from 2011. The city government says the lifts will connect the neighborhoods around Myeongdong Station and Chungmuro Station with the top of the mountain.

There will be 27 gondola lifts carrying six people per cabin in 16-second intervals between the base and the top of the mountain. And they will be able to transport twice as many passengers per hour than the current cable cars.
