More Korean history will soon be included in high school textbooks in the U.S. state of California. In a draft framework to the State Board of Education, the state's curriculum commission says it has decided to include more parts of Korea's modern history such as its cultural influence on Japan as well as economic development.
Currently history textbooks in the U.S. only mention a simple chronology of the Korean War. The commission develops educational curriculum frameworks for all schools in California and recommends textbooks and other teaching materials to be adopted by the Board of Education.
