Police to Seek Extradition in Jang Ja-yeon Scandal

Police on Thursday requested an arrest warrant for the fugitive head of the late actress Jang Ja-yeon's management agency after issuing an Interpol Red Notice the man and asking the Foreign Ministry to invalidate his passport.

Once the arrest warrant is issued, the Justice Ministry will seek extradition of the man, identified as Kim, who is in Japan. Park Young-jun, a prosecutor at the International Criminal Affairs Division in the Justice Ministry, said, "Even if Kim is arrested by Japanese police, we still need to go through court proceedings in Japan on the charges.

It will take at least five or six months until Kim gets repatriated." Jang, who committed suicide last month, left a document alleging that the agency pimped her to influential figures and threatened violence if she refused to have sex with them.
