The movie "Portrait of a Beauty," which is drawing attention for its sensual exposure of heroine Kim Min-sun, reached the one-million-viewer mark, just nine days after its release on Nov. 13, according to CJ Entertainment distribution.
"Portrait of a Beauty" took the top spot at the box office, beating "Max Payne," "Blindness" and "Quantum of Solace."
In particular, the leading film is grabbing impressive online ticket sales. Experts say the film's audience is growing through strong world-of-mouth among moviegoers in their 40s or 50s.
The movie has stirred controversy with provocative scenes, including Kim Min-sun appearing nude and portrayals of homosexuality.
