The weather this Friday for Chuseok is expected to be clear enough to let the bright rays of the full moon through the clouds except for certain areas along the east coast. The Chuseok moon will rise at 5:36 p.m. and reach its zenith at 11:52 p.m.
This Chuseok holiday the entire country is at the edge of a high pressure front, and so periods of thick cloud cover are being forecasted. The Korea Meteorological Administration said Wednesday, "On the actual day of Chuseok it looks like nothing will ruin the weather."
However, on Thursday and Friday, there is news of rain for the eastern parts of Gangwon and Gyeongsang provinces but the expected level of precipitation is only 5mm. On Saturday, the clouds will break, leaving pleasant fall weather across the country.
From the middle of the holiday onwards, the east wind will bring large waves to the southern sea and southern waters of the East Sea. The KMA also says, "Particularly on Friday and Saturday waves of 2-4m are expected and those making use of sea routes to reach the graves of their ancestors need to take special precautions."
