Warren Buffet Snapped Up W100 Billion in Korean Stocks

    November 14, 2005 19:27

Warren Buffett bought some US$100 million (W104.4 billion) in Korean stocks for his personal account last year.

The Wall Street Journal in a profile of the Berkshire Hathaway chairman said he invested around US$100 million in Korean equities.

The numbers were too small for investment by Berkshire, so Buffett bought them for himself, the conservative business daily said.

He made the decision based on a reference manual containing one-page company profiles published in Korea and distributed by Citi Corp. Buffett declined to name the firms.
