Train Routes to Be Split Between Seoul, Yongsan Stations

    November 12, 2004 18:46

Starting Dec. 15, the starting and terminal station for trains linking Seoul and Busan will be Seoul Station. Yongsan Station will be the departure and terminal station for trains connecting Seoul and the Jeolla provinces. Passengers using Seoul-Busan trains must depart or arrive only at Seoul Station and travelers using the Seoul-Jeolla provinces route must get on or get off their trains at Yongsan Station. This decision will be also applied to the KTX bullet train. Eight more KTX trains will run between Seoul and Busan during weekdays and over the weekend. Two more KTX trains will travel the Seoul-Jeolla province line during weekdays and four more bullet trains will run on the route over the weekend.

It is expected that this change will cause inconveniences to travelers of the Seoul-Jeolla province route, because access to Yongsan Station is not easy, while passengers for Seoul-Busan trains will not experience any confusion.
