Kim Dong-sung swept the World Short Track Championship in Montreal Canada, Monday, by winning gold medals in the 1,000 and 3,000 meters individual events and the 5,000-meter relay. He also topped the individual points ranking with 136, after winning gold in the 500 and 1,500-meters the previous day.
This is the first time in the men's short track that a single competitor has won all five events since the sports inauguration in 1975. Canada's Sylvia Digres accomplished this feat in the women's sport in Tokyo in 1983.
Kim, who was disqualified in the 1,500-meters during the Winter Olympic Games after finishing first for allegedly blocking Apolo Ohno, expressed his wish to take part in the next Olympics, following his remarkable record.
