Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy Kim Young-ho announced Friday (KST) that a memorandum of understanding was signed that day between the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (Kitech) and Berlin's University of Applied Sciences, TFH Berlin, to open the Global Venture Investment Center in Seoul later this year. Kim, who is currently in Europe with President Kim Dae-jung, said that the center would help local venture firms gain easier access to advanced German technology for commercialization. The minister also said the center would help German firms advance into Asian markets through Korean enterprises.
