Earthquake Rattles Gyeongju | November 30, 2023 13:09
A magnitude 4.0 earthquake rattled an area 19 km southeast of the ancient city of Gyeongju in North Gyeongsang Province at around 4:55 a.m. on Thursday.The epicenter is estimated to have been around 12 km underground, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration.This earthquake is the second-largest of the 99 minor earthquakes that have jiggled the Korean Peninsula this year. Dozens of people reported sensing the tremors, but no damage was reported.

The epicenter is only approximately 10 km from Korea's second-oldest nuclear reactor in Wolsong, but Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power said, "All nuclear power plants nationwide are operating safely without any impact from the earthquake."
