Food Makers Relent on Price Hikes

Food makers are gradually caving in to pressure from consumer groups and the government to scrap or reverse price hikes now that raw materials prices are falling again.Ottogi had planned to raise the prices of processed products such as ketchup and curry from Dec. 1 but later canceled the plan.

A Ottogi staffer said that the decision was made to reduce people's financial burden in a difficult economic situation. Pulmuone has also reversed its plan to increase the prices of beverages in convenience stores.
