Korea's largest cherry blossom festival is returning this weekend after being halted for about three years due to the coronavirus pandemic.A pre-opening night event will be held on Friday to kick off the 10-day festival, which runs until April 3 in Jinhae, South Gyeongsang Province.During the festival, visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the southern port city awash with cherry blossoms and also take part in various events and programs.Among them, a fireworks show scheduled for March 29 is not to be missed, as it will light up the night sky, allowing the fully bloomed cherry trees to shine even more brilliantly. A series of parades and performances by military bands will also delight visitors.
Around 4.5 million people are expected to travel to Jinhae, one of the best places to enjoy spring flowers, so the city is getting ready with safety measures to ensure the festival goes smoothly.Some 15,000 additional parking spaces and free shuttle buses will be available for visitors' convenience during the festival.
