Golfer Kim Joo-hyung won his first career victory on the PGA Tour at the Wyndham Championship in the U.S. on Sunday.In the fourth and final round of the event at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, Kim finished with a 20-under 260, five strokes ahead of the runners-up, compatriot Im Sung-jae and John Huh of the U.S., to earn US$1.31 million.

Sunday's victory won him a spot in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, which are set to begin with the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee on Thursday. Only the top 125 players in the FedEx Cup standings qualify for the playoffs.The victory also earns him a full-time spot on the PGA Tour, as he has been on Special Temporary Membership. Kim is the third Korean to win the championship, which was first held in 1938, following Choi Kyung-ju in 2005 and Kim Si-woo in 2016. The 20-year-old became the ninth and youngest Korean golfer to win on the PGA Tour.
