Apple on Tuesday said it will replace the batteries of older iPhones in Korea whose performance it deliberately slowed.
Apple has admitted it slowed the performance of the iPhone 6 and newer models as the battery aged to avoid spontaneous shutdowns.
The new batteries will only cost W34,000 as opposed to the W100,000 regular price, and the offer will last until the end of this year (US$1=W1,063).
A class-action lawsuit against Apple here has attracted more than 250,000 iPhone users so far. Law firm Hannuri said it will continue to gather plaintiffs until Jan. 11 and file the suit later this month.
