Above-average daytime highs are expected this weekend as Typhoon Lan, which is moving northward from waters off the eastern Philippines, blocks a northern cold front from moving south.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the daytime high on Friday is forecast to rise to 23 degrees in Seoul and 21 in Incheon with clear skies, while morning temperatures hover in the chilly 10 degrees range.
The mercury will rise further on Saturday to 24 degrees in Seoul, 23 in Gwangju and Busan, and 22 in Daejeon and Chuncheon. Similar conditions are forecast on Sunday.
The 30-year average temperature for this time of year is 19 degrees.
