Koreans log in two hours and 10 minutes a day on their smartphones, the sixth-longest time in the world, according to an online survey by German market researcher Statista on Saturday.
Brazilians ranked first by spending a whopping four hours and 48 minutes a day on their phones. The Chinese came in second place (three hours and three minutes), followed by Americans (two hours and 37 minutes), Italians (two hours and 34 minutes) and Spaniards (two hours and 11 minutes).
Statista said most people use their smartphones for at least an hour a day, and the average in the top 10 countries surged from 90 minutes in 2012 to 150 minutes last year.
Business and tech website Business Insider reported that contrary to projections that artificial intelligence and augmented reality technologies will replace smartphones, the world is still dominated by phones, and their influence in people's lives is growing stronger.
