The latest numbers show that it's not uncommon for married couples in Korea to physically drift apart while trying to balance work and family life.
According to a report released Thursday by Statistics Korea, one in every 10 married couples lives apart from each other, mainly because of work.
Of the 1.1 million households surveyed, 10 percent of couples were found to have been living separately in 2010.
Over 70 percent of those that live apart pointed to their jobs as the reason for the separation. Other reasons included family problems and health issues.
