Korea's first sunrise of the new Year of the Rabbit will be at 7:26 a.m. on the Dokdo islets, the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute said on Thursday.
The sunrise will occur five minutes later in Ganjeolgot Cape in Ulsan and on the mainland there soon afterward.
In Seoul it can be viewed from Mt. Nam at 7:47 a.m., and in Busan from Taejongdae Cliff and Haeundae Beach at 7:32 a.m.
The predictions are for viewers at sea level; those on mountain peaks or hills may see the daybreak a little bit sooner.
