Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva is going to meet K-pop boy band EXO, who will perform at the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang on Sunday.

As Medvedeva has openly talked about herself being a big fan of theirs, the organizing committee of the Olympics in cooperation with EXO's management agency is arranging a special event for Medvedeva to get a chance to get up close and personal with her favorite K-pop band.

Medvedeva, who described herself as a fanatic of EXO, also revealed that she often listens to EXO's songs to warm up just before competitions.

When she arrived at Incheon International Airport on Feb. 9, the Chosun Ilbo delivered a copy of EXO's album autographed by all eight members to her. She blushed with excitement, jumping up and down.

Meanwhile, Medvedeva is set to vie for a gold medal with her Russian teammate Alina Zagitova on Friday. Zagitova finished the short program with a world record of 82.92 points on Wednesday, taking the top spot and surpassing the Olympic co-favorite Medvedeva, who earned 81.61.

Korean figure skater Choi Da-bin, who performed a flawless short program to pull off a personal high and finish eighth, will also compete in the free program along with another Korean skater Kim Ha-nul.

Out of 30 skaters, the top 24 have qualified for the free program.
