Hangover Prevention Best Taken 30 Minutes Before Drinking
The festive season is a time for heavy drinking, and hangover preventions can really help make the morning after easier.
Doctors recommend taking them half an hour before drinking alcohol. "Hangover preventions help the body break down alcohol more quickly and ease the side effects of drinking," said Jun Dae-won at Hanyang University Medical Center.
Hangover preventions are divided into products that help break down alcohol and those that activate the liver.
"It's better to take them before drinking, but taking them afterward can also help," Jun said.
The morning after, tea or other infusions also help by replenishing much-needed fluids. Jun said honey water or fruit juice with high sugar content are beneficial.
