Fans Mourn Death of Pop Idol
Thousands of fans and celebrities mourned the death of Jong-hyun of boy band SHINee, who killed himself Monday at the age of 27.
His management agency SM Entertainment set up a mourning altar for his fans at Asan Medical Center in Seoul.
Fans queued for more than 2 km long outside the hospital where his body was taken as reporters from Japan, Taiwan and other countries flocked to the scene.
Most of the fans waited silently in line and paid their last respects until late at night. Fans around the world also left messages on social media.
Friends also came to pay their last respects. SM Entertainment said the funeral will be private according to the wishes of his family.
All stars in SM Entertainment's stable canceled their scheduled performances on Tuesday to mourn Jong-hyun's death.
