Heavy snow will cover parts of Korea from Wednesday evening after freezing morning temperatures across the country.

Under the influence of cold air coming from the northwest, morning lows in inland regions plummeted to -8 to -5 degrees Celsius.

Rain or snow is expected in central parts and some areas in North Jeolla Province in the evening.

The cold snap will abate slightly from Thursday as warmer air blows in from the south.
