Torch for Pyeongchang Olympics to Arrive in Korea This Week
The torch for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics is on its way to Korea.
The countdown to the Olympics officially kicked off with a lighting ceremony in Olympia, Greece last week. The torch began its eight-day journey around Greece in a relay involving around 500 torchbearers.
Former figure skater Kim Yu-na will receive the torch at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens on Tuesday. After arriving at Incheon on Wednesday, the torch will be carried by some 7,500 torchbearers touring the country in a 2,018-km relay.
The relay will feature just about every means of transportation imaginable, from planes to bicycles and even zip lines.
The 100-day countdown to the games will begin with a concert at Gwanghwamun Plaza in Seoul with performances by K-pop stars.
