Seoul City to Combat Air Pollution with Free Public Transport
The Seoul Metropolitan Government will implement various measures to tackle air pollution from next month, it said on Wednesday.
On days when the density of ultrafine dust particles is dangerously high, public transportation will be made free during the rush hour, and motorists will be encouraged only to drive every other day.
Buses and subway lines across the city all will be free, but buses to and from Incheon and Gyeonggi Province and metro lines running outside the city limits are not part of it.
High-risk groups like small children, the elderly and the infirm will be given masks, and children's welfare facilities without air purifiers can benefit from a new rental service.
