The K-pop scene so far this year has been dominated by veteran crooner Cho Yong-pil and upstart superstar Psy, but a survey shows that while everyone here knows the rapper thanks to his global success, most would rather listen to Cho.

Gallup Korea carried out a random nationwide mobile phone survey on 1,005 adults and found that 74 percent of the respondents had seen the video of Psy's latest single "Gentleman" and 64 percent had listened to Cho's new songs "Hello" or "Bounce."

But when asked whose concert they would rather go to, 53 percent chose Cho and only 38 percent Psy.

Cho will be headlining the SuperSonic Festival at the Olympic Park in Seoul in August.
